Humanistic Leadership Explored at Tongji University in Shanghai
Recently, André Lacroix visited Tongji University in Shanghai, China – one of the world’s leading universities renowned for its research-intensive culture in science and technology.
Originally founded as a medical school by German doctor Erich Paulun in 1907, Tongji University has grown into a leading centre of scientific and technological expertise. It has produced thousands of talented alumni, some of whom are members of the prestigious Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
The university aims to empower every student with “creativity, global vision, and a sense of social responsibility”—an inspiring goal closely aligned with the key leadership principles outlined in André’s book, Leadership with Soul.
During his visit, André was truly inspired by the curiosity with which the students engaged in discussions about the importance of taking a humanistic approach to leadership. The thought-provoking questions raised demonstrated that China’s youth are well prepared to take on new responsibilities as the leaders of tomorrow.
Appreciation is extended to all the students and staff at Tongji University for hosting this enriching event.
