Intertek CEO André Lacroix recently joined Intertek colleagues in Plymouth, Michigan, a fast-changing city at the epicentre of the American automotive industry, for the opening of the new Electrification Centre of Excellence.

Demand for sustainable transport solutions has grown in recent years leading to an acceleration in the adoption of electric vehicles and a notable advancement in the battery technology space.

At Intertek we recognise that, with more and more people around the world choosing to travel with electric modes of transport, the assurance and performance testing of batteries and other technologies will play a critical role in the transition to net-zero.

The opening of Intertek’s fantastic new state-of-the-art Electrification Centre of Excellence is designed to respond to the rapid shift towards EVs, supporting both clients and their customers in their electrification journey, with unmatched science-based subject matter expertise.

Investment in the Plymouth Electrification Centre of Excellence is a testament to Intertek’s continued support for cutting-edge innovation and is a symbol of our commitment to a sustainable and electrified future.

While in Plymouth for the opening ceremony, André also took the time to meet with some of Intertek’s amazing colleagues in the city and showcase their incredible achievements as part of the Intertek 2023 AAA Awards. Those individuals recognised included: Alisa Taylor, Michael Wells, Mary Coleman, Pat Daniels, Darek Jose, Patrick Weil, Paolo Mogollon Acosta and Jim Bryans.
