Giving back as a leader
For André Lacroix, writing Leadership with Soul was an energising experience, providing the opportunity to capture views on the leadership changes required to create a much higher level of engagement in the workplace and unleash the full potential of corporations.
Over the last two years, André has had the fortunate opportunity to visit many universities around the world to discuss Leadership with Soul with students. This has been one of the most rewarding experiences for him, as it has shed light on some of the fundamental questions the younger generation has on the need to adopt a more ethical leadership model in society.
André says he owes a great deal to his business school in Paris since graduating in 1983. He was consequently deeply honoured when ESCP Business School asked for Leadership with Soul to be taught to their MBA students. Sharing what he learned over the years is for him the purest expression of giving back as a leader.
Through interactive sessions, André encouraged students to reflect on their leadership styles, and some of their unique insights were spotlighted as they each explored their own journeys.
“Reflecting on this experience, I recognise that integrating emotional intelligence into my leadership practice is crucial for fostering a cohesive and motivated workforce.”
“By embracing these principles, I aim to create a dynamic, innovative, and sustainable organisation that excels in performance and fosters a positive and inclusive work environment.”
“From now on, I will do my best to put these principles into practice in my daily professional life and I will also enhance my emotional intelligence skills.”
André is particularly grateful to ESCP for inviting him to teach Leadership with Soul at their MBA course, and to all the students who participated. He hopes these sessions resonate with them as they embark on their own leadership journeys, inspiring them to cultivate growth-oriented, engaging, and innovative workplaces.
