Exploring leadership journeys

André Lacroix visited the University of Warwick Business School, one of the UK’s leading research centres, which consistently tops world rankings for its cutting-edge MSc Finance and Executive Education Programmes.

The University’s campus is state-of-the-art and sits at the forefront of innovation, and it was a privilege for André to share his experiences with over 100 talented students who are about to set out on their own individual leadership journeys.

During a Q&A session after the event, many of the students were keen to learn how André had secured his first job after leaving university and what they should look for in a potential employer.

While everyone must make their own journey, André suggested looking for companies with a clear growth strategy to offer the widest possible range of experience. The first 15 years of your career can often determine your future success and students need to be demanding of their employers, ensuring they get the opportunities for development that will allow them to leave their mark.

André also discussed how EQ is an essential quality in all good leaders. Despite incredible recent advances in AI and machine learning, technology will never replace the role which emotional intelligence can play in inspiring people to achieve amazing things.

It was clear that this message resonated deeply with the students, reflecting the growing demand among young people for a leadership model that is sector agnostic and can be applied to every aspect of working life.
