Discussing leadership at the University of Warwick – Warwick Business School

André Lacroix had the opportunity to revisit the University of Warwick – Warwick Business School, one of the world’s leading centres for business theory and academic research, known for its cutting-edge MBA programmes that frequently top global rankings.

During his visit, André had the pleasure of sharing insights from his three-decade-long career leading some of the world’s biggest brands with members of the MBA cohort, who were eager to gain business experience and take their place as the leaders of tomorrow.

The students’ thought-provoking questions underscored the growing need for a humanist model of leadership — one that places people at the heart of an organisation’s strategy.

Following the event, MBA student Trinity L. reflected that “people often focus solely on achieving successful outcomes and driving team performance, but they overlook the importance of fostering strong connections within the team.”

Another student, Gunel Gasimli, shared that the talk had made her realise that “despite not being a born leader, we can all gain the skills needed to become one.”

Hearing a student reflect that leaders should “ensure that they are seen not just as bosses, but as teammates” was particularly inspiring and a testament to how the students connected strongly with the ideas explored in André’s book, Leadership with Soul.

Appreciation is extended to Professor Achim Krausert for hosting him and to all the students for their insightful questions.
