AI Should Strengthen Human Leadership, Not Replace It with CEO Avatars

Artificial intelligence is creating significant opportunities for businesses to improve efficiency, automate routine tasks, and free up valuable time for leaders to focus on what matters most.

Yet the growing use of AI-generated CEO avatars raises an important question about the role of genuine human connection in leadership.

Speaking on The AI Adoption Podcast, André challenged this emerging trend, arguing that a CEO is not simply a Chief Executive Officer, but also a Chief Energy Officer, whose responsibility is to engage directly with colleagues and energise them about the opportunities ahead.

In Leadership with Soul, André emphasises that great leadership depends on trust, empathy, and meaningful human connections, qualities that cannot be replicated through digital avatars.

While AI offers extraordinary opportunities to enhance organisational performance, André believes that replacing personal interactions with artificial representations of leaders risks undermining the very relationships that make organisations successful. In this sense, CEO avatars are not simply a misguided use of technology, but a potentially dangerous step towards diminishing the human connection at the heart of effective leadership.

Rather than creating distance between leaders and their people, technology should empower leaders to spend more time engaging, inspiring, and unlocking the full potential of their organisations.
