Creating leaders for a better world

Last June, André Lacroix had the honour of speaking at Luiss Business School, one of Rome’s premier research institutions, renowned for incubating cutting-edge talent across various business fields. The school’s motto, “Leaders for a Better World,” resonates with André deeply.

During a lively Q&A session that covered a broad range of topics, two particularly insightful questions sparked a fantastic debate: who has been an inspiration throughout his career, and how to meaningfully engage a workforce.

André talked about his strong admiration for the Greek philosopher Plato, saying that his guiding mantra is “The only thing I know is that I do not know everything.” This natural curiosity fuels openness, providing energy through learning from those met and worked with. The key piece of advice he offered to the students was therefore to remain receptive to feedback and embrace fresh ideas.

When it comes to workforce engagement, André believes it’s crucial to place people at the centre of growth strategies and daily actions, leading with emotional intelligence. This is the key theme of his book Leadership with Soul, which argues that a humanistic approach to leadership is essential for creating sustainable growth and value for all stakeholders.

André is grateful to all his hosts in Rome and was inspired to see the energy of the students who have a real opportunity to make the world extraordinary by leading with soul.
